We have hopefully turned the page on this long, cold winter. Here we are in the month where warmer weather, the beginning of Spring, rebirth and real hope exists for us all.
This month, we will celebrate Reading Across America along with Dr. Seuss’ birthday. We have some fun activities planned for our children and invite them to bring in their favorite book to be read in class. (See “Events,” below)
Our children are all moving along with the alphabet. The Pre-K class is focusing on Site Words and Word Families along with letter/sound recognition. They will be reading soon!
The three-year old class is developing beautifully and enjoying what they have learned during circle time. We have two “Mantras” by which we answer: “If you know it-show it,” and “Be proud and loud.” BOY, do they! This month we will begin working on cutting skills along with simple concepts.
Science, geography, and math skills continue to be part of our weekly curriculum. Last month’s volcano was an EXPLOSIVE LESSON!
We will be discussing the awakening of nature as we enter Spring. I can’t wait to welcome back our migrating and hibernating friends as we watch the trees begin to bud and our playground invites us back!
On March 17th, we ask that your child wear green to school and we will see if our leprechaun, Patrick, left us a “pot of gold.”
