The flowers are blooming & time is flying by! Little Steps Newsletter
May 2021

WOW!  It’s May? Unbelievable!

The children have been enjoying watching the earth come alive. Our units on plants, baby animals and their habitats and Earth Day have been so much fun. (how many of your children bugged you to recycle?!) Mother Nature is truly amazing. We watched as our caterpillars grew, spun their cocoons and then emerged as butterflies.  It was so magical!  We then had fun as we set them free to enjoy their lives.

This month we will continue to learn about various life cycles while planting some flowers outside our school. We will celebrate the Mexican culture through our Cinco de Mayo lesson (always looking for a reason to have a party!)  and learn about the importance of Memorial Day. We have not forgotten that Mothers’ Day is May 9th, but I can’t share any details of that! 😉

Our children have now completed their journey through the alphabet. The 3-year old class will be reviewing the letter, working on their cutting skills (which are coming along beautifully) and various concepts. The pre-k class has moved on to site words, CVC and blends. Patterning, sequencing, addition and subtraction continue to be daily activities. It’s so gratifying to see the children grasping these concepts.

FUN IN THE SUN is back this summer!  Our camp will be filled with weekly themes and fun daily activities.  A calendar will be sent out at the end of May along with a summer registration form.  If your child is continuing through the summer, there will be no break in the schedule. For those children who are taking the summer off, please remember that the last day of our school year will be June 24th.

Remember: Moms are the people who knows us the best and love us the most!
